What are the different types of toilets?

The common system types are:

  • Close-coupled toilet: this is a very common design, where the cistern head sits directly above the toilet unit. Mostly common in 1960-90 style homes.
  • Wall faced toilet: this toilet has a hidden cistern head and sits flush against the surface of the wall. Most common in new apartments.
  • Back to wall toilet: this toilet system is attached to the bathroom wall, with no pipes visible.
  • Wall hung toilet: similar to the wall faced style, except this toilet is fixed directly to the wall. The most stylish and expensive option but look ultra modern.

How long does it take to install a new toilet suite?

The work of installing a toilet can depend on a variety of factors. If the toilet being replaced is the same or similar to what was there before, then the toilet installation is generally quite straight forward. The old toilet needs to be removed and the new toilet plumbed in in its place. The new toilet can either be siliconed down or placed on a bed of mortar. Either way, the toilet should not be used for 24 hours after installation.

If the new toilet is different from what was there before like an in-wall cistern or plumbing needs to be moved in order to accomodate the new toilet suite, then naturally this would extend the time needed for the toilet installation.

Super Drains had replaced 1000’s of toilets. Call us today and our technician can come to your property to give you an upfront price.

Can you replace my toilet with a water efficient model?

With the Australian conditions, we recommend that any new toilet installation is a model that uses less water. Whether that is a half flush model, or one that uses better technology in the way the water is released to flush away waste more efficiently.

Super Drains can recommend various models of toilet suits with a range of pricing and environmental benefits. We can help in all situations from apartments and houses to cafes and office blocks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we do! We take immense pride in our work and we want all our customers to know that Super Drains is a firm they can trust. That is why every job we do is covered by a workmanship guarantee, giving you extra peace of mind. Our drain relining, is also covered by a blockage-free guarantee, which lasts for as long as you live in your property. We’re confident you won’t need to use it, but it helps to know it’s there.

We understand that life’s little emergencies can’t wait. We have teams all over Sydney and can dispatch a technician to your door quickly. We take reliability seriously, however if our technician gets held up at another job or for any other reason, we’ll be sure to call and advise with plenty of notice.

One sign that your toilet is blocked is that the water level keeps rising and doesn’t appear to go back down again. If you believe the blockage is local, you can try using a plunger. Otherwise, we recommend calling our drainage specialists. Another sign that it’s blocked is that it won’t flush. Usually, it won’t flush when there’s a large blockage that you shouldn’t try to move by yourself. We treat blocked toilets as urgent calls, because we understand how important it is to make sure yours is flushing properly. If you’re looking for drainage specialists who’ll always exceed your expectations, call Super Drains to arrange for someone to attend your property.

At Super Drains, we understand that you need to budget for any pipe work we carry out. To make your life easier, we offer upfront quotes for every phase of our efforts. Additionally, we charge by the job rather than by the hour. This means you can plan your finances and avoid hidden financial surprises.

Once we have scoped the job entirely, we will provide options for you to select from. Once you have a quote, that’s the price you can expect to pay. You may also be pleased to learn that we charge by the job, not by the hour.

We understand that the thought of workmen entering your home is sometimes stressful. We’ll do everything we can to avoid making a mess, which includes tidying as we go along. After we’ve finished our work, we’ll clear all our mess before leaving your property.

Yes, we provide emergency plumbing, drain and hot water services across Sydney pipe relining services throughout Sydney.
